Russia wins World Championship Bronze

Victoria Moiseeva defeated USA's Jamie Sinclair 6-5 to win World Championship Bronze Medal.

North Bay, Canada - Russia's Victoria Moiseeva made the draw 8-foot for the win to score 2 in the 10th end to win the Ford World Women's Curling Championship Bronze Medal Sunday morning at the Memorial Gardens in North Bay. Moiseeva with Julia Portunova, Galina Arsenkina and Julia Guzieva extend Russia's streak of medalling at the worlds to 5 straight years with the win.

Entering the 10th end, USA's Jamie Sinclair had a draw to try and hide behind a centre guard and Russian shot stone buried at the top of the 8-foot but slid deep leaving Russia the shot for the win.

Moiseeva opened the game with hammer due to their better round-robin record and blanked the first end. Sinclair capitalized on some mistakes in the second end stealing the first point of the game to get on the board. Russia responded with two in the third end to lead 2-1, then a Sinclair blank and force in the fifth end left the game tied at the break.

Sinclair came out with an aggressive sixth end, stealing a single point to take a 3-2 lead. Another open end as Russia settled down for the blank, then scored 2 with a hit in an open 8th end. Sinclair bounced back in the ninth with a great draw to the four-foot around centre guards to score 2 in the ninth end to hold the advantage into the final end where one mistake made the difference.

Undefeated Jennifer Jones of Canada will play Sweden's Anna Hasselborg at 3pm ET for the Gold Medal later today.
