I hope they end up with a good lead. Have to wonder about the idea of "auditioning" a couple of players in the last 2 events. If someone is on a half-decent team he probably wouldn't want to be exposed as looking elsewhere without some kind of guarantee. Of course this might just have been Weicek's take on things.

Sounds good. Hope it works out for all concerned. Would really like to see this team at the Oly. Trials.

Tyler must be feeling so good right now.
As Stoughton said ''Our options are pretty limited right not''. Traduction = you are the best of the not so good...

Not at all you are reading that wrong...
"We've thrown rocks a couple times with Tyler already and it's going great," said Stoughton. "We'll see how it runs in Victoria and keep our eyes and ears open for any other options that might come up. But our options are pretty limited at this point."
Options other than tyler are limited. And i quote again...

I wonder what happened between Steve and Jeff. I thought that when they let Gould go there would be a firm plan in place. Jeff is either playing coy waiting for the season to end to make an announcement, or something happened that had them release Steve for a non curling related matter and pick up the pieces at a later date. Seems very odd to not have a firm announcement in hand when you cut someone who has curled with you for so long....
Nicols would be interesting if Reid moved down to lead but Marc would be a waste at lead with his hitting abilitly being under utilized.

Lots of speculation abounds re: The Stoughton/Gould situation. Stoughton didn't seem to have a man in the bullpen and Gould doesn't appear to have a quick team to switch to. (42 year old leads aren't really in demand as most of Manitoba's better teams are well under 35, 'cept for McNamee, Peters (who's essentially retired) and Dutiaume (who's a great 75% shooter)
Stoughton, nearing 50 is entering desperate territory. This will be his last kick at the Olympic cat, perhaps two more years on the cash circuit and he'd certainly like to nab at least one more Manitoba championship (his 10th overall) and take a crack at his 4th Brier.

I posted the link. I type with three fingers there. Figured it deserved a thread of its own as the move involves several provinces and is rather novel.
