Harder for CDN Men or Women to win world gold?
I think its harder for the CDN men's teams to win gold, I think the world mens teams know the game better in terms of strategy and shot execution which is going to make it harder for Glenn and the boys to win. On the womes side there are a few good world teams but I think men seem to understand the game better for some reason...Goooo CDN!!

I would say it's never "easy" for any team/individual to win a Gold medal.Based purely on recent history I would have to say the women have a somewhat tougher time. Men have won Gold, 8 times since 2000, the women 5 times, the last being 2008.

Main reason our men win more often is that they usually perform the same in playoffs as they do in round-robin action.
Canadian front ends are usually curling in the high 80s to low 90s but the real difference is Canadian mens team usually have more power and finesse at the third position - witness Morris, Mead, Middaugh, McDonald, Hart, etc. vs. let down artists like Lawes, Schneider, Cathy O, etc. I won't put Iskiw into this category because her play in the playoffs matched up with her play in the round-robin (she was even better in the Scotts playoffs) while she was just a tiny bit off in the world playoffs vs. world rr.

why are the women not getting gold as much as the men
the women are not getting gold as much as men because of the other countries. Those top female curling countries are starting to put all there dedication into curling. if the women canadian curling players want to start getting the gold, then we are going to have to put as much time as the mens. The men also are going to have to start getting serious. All there time and money into this sport because the other countries are right be hind with the new training. The men might be in first but Thomas Ulsrud from Norway and Nicholas Edin from Sweden and Thomas Brewster from scootland are really close and alot of them are getting serious!

Lets see:
1. Current field of Canadian men are stronger than ever.
2. Last 4-5 years of Canadian women teams have been well below usual Canadian curling standards (I dont care if that sounds rude, if you want the truth, you have to be honest).
3. Current field of International men are not as strong as years past, with no Lindholm, Trulsen, or Ramsfjell level team, and also with only about 4 contending teams, without real threats from teams like Germany, U.S, Switzerland, Finland, any longer.
4. Current field of International women are probably the strongest ever, with great teams from Sweden, Switzerland, China, Scotland, and threatening teams from Germany, United States, sometimes Denmark, and now Korea as well.
So hmm....I wonder which it is harder to win for. That is a tough question, NOT. Anette Norberg on her own has won over double the World and Olympic titles the last 8 years as all the Canadian womens teams combined.
