Records Redux | Women's Worlds Version
So was the 5-point comeback to win by Team Canada the biggest ever in Women's Worlds history? It must be close or at the very least a record-tying comeback.

Poor Russ was trying to devine the best shot into Heather's mind. As she put it, she really did have a "brain fart". Luckily they left their #sh*tballs behind and kept their focus. I'd love to know if it was the greatest comeback, but I have a feeling Dordi Nordby might've done it before her. Can we find out?
.. gerry, get that Korean flag up there, *PLEASE* Seems a bit disrespectful... though I know it's just because you are busy. Use my avatar.

As stats for World Championships are very sparse (the WCF site is the best source, but even they don't keep these kind of stats), I've gleaned back through the WWCC stats I have since the Men & Women separated in 2005.
That year in Paisley, Russia was up 7-2 vs. Sweden after six ends in Draw 2. The Swedes took 1 in 7, cracked a 4-ender in 8 and stole another in 9 before giving back 1 in 10 to come from behind & win it 9-8.
Heather's 5-point comeback would tie that, but remember she was down 5 after 2, not 6.
I'll try to find more...

Same draw, Switzerland was down 5-0 after 3 vs. Finland; cames back to 10-9 in an extra end.

2007, Draw 12: The almost-comeback that wasn't...
Sweden down 8-2 vs. Denmark after 5; came back & made a game of it before coming up just short 9-8.

The almost-comeback that wasn't "Part Deux":
Last year in Esbjerg: Draw 2, Scotland was down 6-1 after 8; cracked a 3-ender in 9 & stole 1 in 10 to come up shy 6-5.

I think we have a winner!
2011, Draw 8: Norway down 7-1 after 3 and 8-2 after 6 vs. Russia; scored a deuce in 7, stole 2 in 8, stole another 2 in 9 and a single in 10 to win it 9-8!

Great work, Soudog.
BTW, the real "winner" here is you for all of the outstanding research and record-keeping you have done for this and all the SOC events.
Without guys like you, much of curling's statistical fossil record would be buried forever.
Cheers,
Alex
